The University of Cape Coast School of Medical Sciences trains doctors who are people centred, community oriented and research conscious. The School matriculated its first medical students in 2008 and has since trained more than 700 doctors for Ghana.
How we teach
The six-year MB ChB is taught in two cycles. Students learn through problem based learning in small groups from year two, practise clinical skills on patient simulators from their second year, and serve communities through the Community Based Experience and Service (COBES) programme. Clinical training takes place at Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
Our structure
Teaching and research are organised into seventeen academic departments and three specialist units.
