Emmanuel Kusi Achampong is presently a Senior Lecturer and Head at the Department of Medical Education and Information Technology (DMEIT), School of Medical Sciences, University of Cape Coast. He has a Ph.D. in Information Technology and an M.Sc. in Health Informatics. He and his colleagues have won some grants for research into health informatics and health information management.

Dr.  Achampong oversees four units, namely, the

• Medical Education Unit
• Faculty Information Technology Support Unit
• Medical Informatics Unit
• Medical Illustration Unit

Dr. Achampong has twenty one (21) publications in peer-review journals as well as two published books to his credit. His research interests include electronic health records, health informatics education and cloud computing security.
