Evelyn obtained a Master of Science in Health Services Planning and Management in 2005 (School of Medical Sciences, KNUST), a Master of Public Health in Health Research Ethics in 2009 (School of Health Systems and Public Health, University of Pretoria), and a PhD in Health and Medical Ethics in 2017 (Faculty of Medicine, University of Basel). She has undertaken several certificate postgraduate bio and public health ethics courses and participated in international conferences in Belgium, Botswana, Ethiopia, France, Italy, Kenya, Mozambique, Romania, Scotland, South Africa, Switzerland, Tanzania, the UK, and the US. Since November 2011, Evelyn has been teaching courses in Bioethics and Public Health Ethics at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Cape Coast, Central Region, Ghana. Additionally, she handles research methods courses (particularly qualitative) and supervises undergraduate ethics-related projects. As a Fogarty Scholar, Evelyn had opportunity to observe ethics committees’ proceedings in Pretoria, South Africa and Baltimore, US. She subsequently returned home to serve as an Ethics Committee Administrator in KNUST and the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. She is currently a member of her University’s ethics review committee. Evelyn has been a Bioethics Trainer in KNUST and affiliate institutions in Kumasi and Agogo, as well as the University of Ghana. She has served as Project Ambassador for the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED) and the University of KwaZulu Natal (South Africa) Initiative for research ethics committees in Africa. She loves to make deeper personal growth and development commitments to younger women of her alma mater, OLA Girls’ School in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. Her research interests centre on empirical ethics, particularly in the area of living and conducting health research in under resourced environments. Her academic and research interests are inspired by an early-career involvement in multi-centre clinical trials involving children and rural communities in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
